A genre meeting you won't soon forget: electric Nordic jazz meets classical string orchestra when guitarist and composer Morten Georg Gismervik presents his critically acclaimed work Starfall in a new and expanded version together with Harald Hårfagre Chamber Orchestra and Munor.

Inspired by the starry sky, Starfall unites the acoustic and the electric in a musical universe where jazz, classical music, prog and modern soundscapes merge. The music moves between the intimate and the grand, the detailed and the raw, and invites the audience into a narrative where the voices constantly shift between the musicians on stage.

Morten Georg Gismervik has distinguished himself as a distinctive voice in Norwegian jazz with his focus on the electric guitar as a lyrical and narrative instrument. He is behind several releases and collaborates with some of the country's most exciting musicians. Jazz critic Audun Vinger writes about Gismervik:

Harald Hårfagre Chamber Orchestra has for many years distinguished itself as a flexible and innovative player in Haugalandet. In addition to its classical repertoire, the orchestra has been a key partner in a number of projects across genres, including with Thomas Dybdahl, Nils Økland and Sondre Lerche, as well as through the Podium – Fartein Valen international chamber music festival.

For this concert, the ensemble will be expanded with young musicians from the region through Munor's talent initiative Ung Munor , which gives aspiring performers the opportunity to stand on stage side by side with professional musicians. This creates a meeting between generations, genres and musical traditions - and a unique arena for both artistic development and musical community.
