Festiviteten Haugesund – an environmentally conscious cultural center
Festiviteten Haugesund works purposefully to strengthen both the internal and external environment through continuous improvement. Our climate and environmental policy covers the entire business – from daily operations and purchasing to events and services. All employees and managers are responsible for following up on the guidelines, and environmental considerations must be the basis when we set goals, plan measures and consider new investments. Before major changes or projects are implemented, we carefully assess the consequences to ensure that they do not lead to a negative environmental impact. We comply with applicable laws, regulations and local provisions.
Festiviteten Haugesund shall:
Increase environmental awareness among the public, partners and employees through information and inclusive measures
Reduce energy consumption and minimize the use of consumables
Work preventively and stay up to date on developments and innovations within environmental work in the cultural sector
Ensure a good working environment with a focus on well-being, health and development
Set annual goals for our environmental work and follow them up systematically
Planned measures and goals for further environmental improvement
Upgrading ventilation and energy management systems for better overview and more efficient operation
Active efforts to reduce energy use throughout the building
Increased focus on source separation and reduction of residual waste during all our events
Environmental accounting
The environmental accounts show that energy use accounts for a significant portion of the emissions associated with the operation of Festiviteten This is therefore one of our most important areas of focus going forward. We have set ourselves ambitious goals for the coming years, including reductions in residual waste, energy consumption and sick leave.
