Festiviteten – Haugesund's grand theater

Festiviteten has been a gathering point for culture and experiences since its opening on February 7, 1986.

Festiviteten is the city's and the region's professional concert hall and its repertoire will serve performers and audiences throughout the region. The concert hall will have a broad offering, both commercial and narrow cultural expressions for children, young people and adults.

It is the broad programming that constitutes the foundation of the cultural "locomotive" that Festiviteten There is an ongoing balancing act between programming performances that draw full houses and contribute financially to the operation of the house, and narrower performances that are important for the breadth of cultural offerings in Haugesund and the region.

Festiviteten has 3 scenes. Hovedscenen with 511 seats is classified as an A-stage and meets the requirements for larger theater and concert productions. The intimate stage has 100 seats and is mainly used by Haugesund Teater for smaller intimate theater productions. The theater café has 200 seats and is an arena for smaller productions, stand-up, concerts and seminars.

Playing faun

Outside the main entrance stands the sculpture The Playing Faun by Fritz Røed. It has become a symbol of the house, and a miniature of the sculpture is awarded every year as Haugesund Municipality's honorary prize – to a person who has raised Haugesund's name to the world.

Festiviteten Bar

The bar opens one hour before the show. You can buy refreshments here, and you will find it in the middle of the foyer.
