It is not the first time Janove Ottesen has visited Haugesund – and it is also no coincidence that Festiviteten has been chosen as the concert venue. For Janove, this is one of his favorite stages in the entire country.

– I have many good memories from concerts in Haugesund. From the early years at the legendary Flytten, via Byscenen and Djerv Hallen, he says.

But it is Festiviteten which draws him in:

– Not least Festiviteten – one of my favorite scenes. This will be very nice and hopefully magical with a string quartet as accompaniment to my cinematic songs. Welcome!

Festiviteten has the rare combination of intimacy and stage size that suits Janoves' music well. With a local string quartet on stage, the concert will build on the cinematic and theatrical nature of the songs.

A carefully composed program

The concert's arrangements have been created by Erlend Skomsvoll, Gisle Kverndokk, Erik Waldejer and Heine Røise – all with impressive backgrounds in Norwegian and international music. The repertoire has been chosen with a view to what best suits the symphonic format.

– There is always something special when the songs are enhanced with strings. Many of my favorite songs take on an extra dramatic and almost cinematic expression, says Janove.

New music and special guest

Janove will release the single "Min Melodi Blå" and the double album The Collection ahead of the concerts – a collection that ranges from full band format to piano versions, with unreleased bonus material. OLIVER opens the concerts with cinematic piano music.
