ÅGE STEN NILSEN & THE SHOW MUST GO ON ENSEMBLET
Description:
ÅGE STEN NILSEN
& THE SHOW MUST GO ON ENSEMBLE
PAYING A HOLIDAY TO QUEEN'S FIRST "GOLDEN YEARS" 1975-1976
The British band QUEEN is one of the greatest bands in modern music history. The film "Bohemian Rhapsody" and the musical "We Will Rock You" have helped keep the music and the band alive and relevant for generations to come. In recent years, several popular tribute bands have continued their music on Norwegian stages.
ÅGE STEN NILSEN and his band members started their tribute to Queen as early as 2007. Until 2018 they toured the country with Norway's largest tribute show "The show must go on - a grand tribute to Queen" and reached over 600,000 audiences! Mona Levin in Aftenposten named Åge Sten Nilsen "Scandinavia's best Freddy Mercury interpreter"!
Åge has since reunited his legendary band WIG WAM, which through the theme song of the HBO MAX series Peacemaker, "Do Ya Wanna Taste It", has had a new renaissance, with tours and festival engagements in the US and Scandinavia.
But now they're back with a Queen tribute unlike any other! In "Queen - the Golden Years", they focus on the group's first era of greatness in 1975-76, where they created the classic albums "A night at the Opera" and "A day at the races", and of course, the release of the groundbreaking super-hit "Bohemian Rhapsody".
During this period, the band created some of their most beautiful ballads ("Love of my life", "You take my breathe away"), coolest rock songs ("Tie your mother down", "I`m in love with my car"), greatest anthems ("Somebody to love", "The Prophet Song", "Teo Torriate" and "Bohemian Rhapsody"). As well as showing their versatility with variety songs ("Seaside Rendezvous", "Lazing on a Sunday afternoon" and "Millionaire Waltz"). In addition to the big hits, we get to hear songs that no tribute band dares to, from the two classic albums. This is truly the concert for Queen connoisseurs and music lovers!
The audience will of course also get a "Best of" section with some of the biggest hits to come – in a finale with a big sing-along guarantee!! Say welcome to Norway's first and biggest Queen tribute!!
