Kristin Asbjørnsen Duo

Description:

Kristin Asbjørnsen's latest album Hjemveier (2024) received rave reviews in Norway and Germany.

This was Kristin's first Norwegian-language album, released via Kirkelig Kulturverksted. Kristin wrote all the lyrics and music, where the songs revolve around detachment and belonging. They carry a sense of wonder, where the intimate tone opens up to the universal human, about being home for each other.

With strong melodic flair and poetic lyricism, voices and rich guitar worlds are woven into luminous, trickling soundscapes, with quiet intensity and power.

The songs draw inspiration from folk singing, contemplative, Nordic jazz and West African Mandinka, carried forward by the special presence in Kristin's singing. Kristin is one of the most original and critically acclaimed voices in Norwegian music over the past 30 years.

Her artistic expression has garnered overwhelming response, through numerous album releases and many years of international concert activity. Kristin is also known for her personal interpretations of African-American spirituals in the legacy of Ruth Reese.

It is always a great experience to hear Kristin on stage and the stage is set for a rich intimate concert with Kristin and her eminent fellow musician Olav Torget.
