Apropos modernisme – Paris mellom jazz og poesi
Description:
What happens when classical music meets cabaret, jazz and the Parisian avant-garde?
Duo Apropos takes the audience to Paris in the 1920s in a concert full of humor, playfulness and musical surprises. With short and strong songs by Georges Auric, Darius Milhaud and Erik Satie, this becomes an intimate and vivid concert experience.
The composers drew inspiration from everyday life, popular culture and cabaret, and the music is still experienced as fresh and surprisingly current. In an intimate concert format, Duo Apropos gives new life to a repertoire that is rarely performed in Norway. Along the way, you will receive short introductions that open the door to the music. The concert is suitable for both those who are curious about classical music, and for those who know the genre well and want to experience something outside the standard repertoire.
Duo Apropos has been working together for over ten years in Stavanger. They are known for their well-crafted, high-quality thematic concerts. The concert is part of a larger tour that marks the launch of the duo's debut album "The Voice of the Esprit Nouveau."
